My Journey

My name is Gretchen Hingley (MS), Professional Counselor Associate. I provide nature based counsel and guidance in and around natural environments. I help people transform emotional, physical, spiritual pain, disconnection, and suffering into purpose, meaning, and vision. To become who they are meant to be so that they can live in and from their soul purpose and calling in life.

My work is grounded in psychotherapeutic theory, and it is generated from my strong connection to Mother Earth and from the wisdom I have gained through my life experiences, teachers, ceremony, and personal healing process.

My love for the outdoors guided me towards my work with Federal and National Wildland Fire Fighting agencies. The transformative qualities of the wilderness strongly influenced my development as a teacher and rites of passage guide. My passion for working with people, fueled my desire to receive a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University and later to teach counseling and addiction studies at Central Oregon Community College. My experience working with community and Tribal mental health agencies since 2000, has helped me understand the deep gift of resilience and healing, which resides within everyone.

My service to the Central Oregon community has strengthened my belief that a deep nature connection helps you remember and connect to the wisdom that lies within.

I offer nature-based counsel and transformative experiences for community members & wildland firefighters, personal intensives, dream circles, community fire circles, and rites of passage ceremonies.
